Valentine’s Day (whether you’re single or taken) is often one full of stress, anticipation, and maybe some chocolate and flowers. For some people, it’s just the 14th of February, and for others it holds a lot of significance. In preparation for V-Day, we ask you however, to be a little…selfish. Yup. That’s right. Regardless of your relationship status, take the day to show yourself a little more love than usual. Here’s 5 ways you can do that:
1. Stress Less
Ok that sounds much easier said than done but the holiday of love tends to make some of us create our own unwarranted chaos. Find a release valve for your stress. According to Oriental medicine, stress, frustration, and unresolved anger can play an important part in throwing your whole system off and allowing negative energies to affect the body. Exercise, take a long bath with candles, or dance to boost your Wei Qi.
2. Do a “solo” Activity
The key to loving yourself more is to learn more about you–by yourself!. Is there something you’ve always wanted to try? (We’re not saying go out and become a welter-weight boxer) Whether it’s scrapbooking, or journaling, or taking care of goldfish. Find something that puts you in a place of ease and relaxation, and helps you clear your mind. New, stress-free hobbies are always waiting to be found, and it’ll give you a great sense of self. So grab your coloring book (this has become a favorite of ours) and zone out, because it’s time for some you-time.
2. Chocolate
It is still Valentine’s Day so you should definitely have some chocolate on the menu. This chocolate experience may be a little bit out of the ordinary, but it’s got all the makings of being decadent while being incredibly healthy. Thanks to our friends at Embody Wellness Company, this Superfood Brownie recipe will be one you’ll want to share (or not). Indulge a little.
H♥ppy Valentine’s Day!
