Chinese Medicine & A Spring Cleaning For Your Liver
chinese medicine and spring cleaning of liver

Spring, Chinese Medicine, & The Liver

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, each season is connected with a particular organ. Spring relates directly to the liver. What does that mean? You might have noticed changes in the way you feel, both physically and mentally, when the seasons changed. During the winter, you may have started to slow down, retreat and look inward. Once Spring arrives, it’s time to recharge, get outdoors and socialize. When the liver energy is strong, you’ll be motivated to get things done, however, if your liver is out of balance, you might be more irritable than usual.

Other signs of a liver system that’s off kilter, from the Chinese medicine perspective, include:

  • eye twitching
  • dizziness
  • constipation
  • irregular menstrual cycles
  • insomnia

Most of the patients we treat at Acupuncture Remedies have a healthy liver on paper (i.e. normal liver enzymes reported in lab results), yet after addressing the liver with acupuncture and Chinese medicine, many of their symptoms improve!

It is always our goal to take a holistic look at our patients, and spring is a good time for that. If you are suffering from any of these issues, your liver is asking for a spring cleaning! Call us at 212-991-8680 or email info@aprpc.com to book a restorative, rejuvenating acupuncture appointment.
